Soha Ali Khan
BIOGRAPHY
Soha Ali Khan(born 4 October 1978 in New Delhi) is an Indian film actress, known primarily for her work in the Hindi film industry, although she has also acted in Bengali and English-language films. Soha attended The British School, New Delhi and studied modern history at Balliol College, Oxford and earned a Masters degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is the daughter of Bollywood actress, Sharmila Tagore, who is also the Chair of the Indian Censor Board, and cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. She is also the sister of Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan, and former sister-in-law of Bollywood actress, Amrita Singh. She has a fashion/jewelry designer sister, Saba, and a nephew and niece, Ibrahim and Sara respectively. Saif and Amrita divorced during the year 2004. Soha made her acting debut with the Bollywood film Dil Maange More (2004). She performed in the Bengali film Antar Mahal (2005) and Rang De Basanti (2006). She appeared in Khoya Khoya Chand and in the 2009 film 99. Her next release was Tum Mile opposite Emraan Hashmi.
CAREER
Before embarking upon her film career, Soha worked for the Ford Foundation and Citibank. She is involved in a range of activities outside the acting world, including serving on the Advisory Board for a new project of the public entrepreneur group, Res Publica. She also modelled for the spring-summer collection of Globus, an Indian chain of boutiques. Soha made her acting debut with the Bollywood production Dil Maange More (2004), where she shared credits with Shahid Kapoor and two other leading ladies (Ayesha Takia and Tulip Joshi). She has since received critical acclaim for her performances in the Bengali film Antar Mahal (2005) and Rang De Basanti (2006). Her next release Khoya Khoya Chand (Sudhir Mishra)(2007) though did not do well at the box office, earned her critical acclaim.
